Early Elk Hunt 08

Well Dad, Shay and I went out Hunting (well we called it that, it was more of a hiking and seeing how the tent goes up) trip. It was fun, wish we would've gotten up there earlier, so that we could've set it up in the daylight. Dad should've burned the stove before we got up there that way all the paint fumes wouldn't have taken 2 hours to burn off while we waited outside in the rain and cold, but it was ok, it was worth it. The tent was awesome, it kept us warm and dry, the stove got super hot and was nice to cook chili and hot cocoa on, not at the same time.

The tent is huge by the way, we were able to put in two bunkbeds in there and had room for more.

Well we didn't see anything at all, besides two bald eagles and four deer, oh and some squirrels. However, we will be going back up around Thanksgiving when the snow comes and pushes the elk down off Mt. Adams.

Since we didn't see anything, so I turned to taking pictures of the area without the snow around. Here are some of those pictures, I'll put some of the pictures from the hunt in November up after we go, hopefully it'll show some elk this time.

Shay decided to reserve our spot for November, he does realize a few feet of snow will be there, but hopefully we'll find it when we clean off the snow for the tent.

Been awhile

Well I realize it has been quite awhile since I last posted a blog. So a quick update.

Alex now has two teeth! It is amazing how fast she is growing and the things she is learning. She loves to wave at herself. She has eaten some watermelon, strawberries and banana. Here is her first time eating strawberries.

She loves Taylor, the dog. Whenever we are over there she watches her wherever she goes and wants to play with her. Taylor is really good with Alex, its cute to watch the two interact.

An amazing thing that Alex has been doing for the past month is going #2 on the potty. She wouldn't go in her diaper until it was off her bum, so Alicia came up with the idea to buy a potty for her and see if she'd go on that, and surprise, surprise she did. She is starting to get the hang of it now too, she knows what she's suppose to do when she is on it. I know its a parent thing, but its awesome you got to admit that one! Here is our proof.

She is a big goofball too, her smile seems to be getting bigger and bigger. She is just so adorable. She has been making sounds a lot and likes to make sounds and listen to see if you copy her, she thinks thats funny. Here is a big cheesy smile for you!!!

She loves it when her cousins come over. She likes talking to them, not sure Kelton likes it, Alex will go to grab him and he up and moves, can't say I blame him, she goes for the hair. McKeena and Bailey love talking to her and they are great with her, we are so blessed to have them close to us.

Well I'll try to update more often, sorry its been so long.

Ray and Janeen's Wedding Reception

I know this picture makes it look more like someone's birthday, but this was Ray and Janeen's wedding reception. It was the most relaxed I've ever been to and was so enjoyable. It was wonderful to see these two the night before in the Temple being sealed to one another for time and all eternity, thank you for inviting me to share that with you. It was great to see old friends too.

Its strange how fast life flies by! It seems like just the other day we were playing on the street and jumping into the bushes hiding from cars. Now we are all married, and eventually I believe, Ray will join Brady and I as having kids. Enjoy your Honeymoon Ray and Janeen, get lots of rest and relaxation in, probably not hard to do in the Bahama's!

I couldn't let a post go by without putting up a picture of Alex so here are two.

This is Alex and her cousins. It was the end of a long day, Bailey, McKeena, and Kelton were ok, but little Alex didn't want anything to do with it.

Maddie's Birthday

Happy 1st Birthday Maddie! Alex was invited to her first birthday party and boy did she have fun. Maddie got this adorable rocker chair and the two girls loved it. I think in this picture Maddie is showing Alex how to suck her thumb, little does Maddie know that Alex is a professional thumb-sucker. The two seemed to hit it off which was very cute to see. Thanks to Rebecca, Mark and Maddie for inviting us over to share in this moment with them.

Wow a Busy Week and Rice Cereal Time!

Well it was time for Mala Beba to have some Rice cereal, and as you can see above, she wasn't sure what to think of at first. She was grabbing the spoon from RAD-Mom because she thought it was a toy. Then she tasted the cereal and she enjoyed it. She laughed and giggled, she thought it was so funny. Mala Beba has been learning how to blow and make noises like a helicopter with her mouth, this is bad timing with her eating Rice cereal. Right as we put the spoon in her mouth, she blows and the cereal ends up all over, mostly on Mala Beba's face, its cute!

She loves her cereal and her spoon. She can be crying and crying and we put her up in her high-chair and show her the first spoonful and and instant smile.

This week Mala Beba got to go to Astoria, Oregon for the first time. There is this place that makes the best fish and chips around, its called The BowPicker, it is right across the street from the Maritime Museum, its just a little boat that they have added a cooker to it and they cook right out of it. Its great food and if you ever go, just get a full order for two people and share it, its huge and you get lots of fish. We also made a trip up to the Astoria Column, RAD-Mom and I have been there before, our 1st wedding anniversary actually, but this was our first time with Mala Beba. We went to Astoria for RAD-Mom's Dad's father's day present, he loves that place so we told him we'd take him, it was a long drive for fish&chips, but worth it.

This week was a busy week for us. RAD-Mom also had a family member from Italy in town. It was fun to talk to Valentina and see how life is over in Italy. We told her that if we ever got enough money saved up that we would head over and visit her. She lives right on the Adriatic Sea. Some day in our lives we will have to get over there for sure! Thanks for visiting us Valentina and we hope you had fun and hope that you had a safe trip home!

Rowe-union

Well this last weekend RAD-Mom's side of the family had a reunion. They call it a Roweunion since her Mom's side of the family are the Rowe's, get it?!! Anyhow, Mala Beba got to see her Great Grandma and Grandpa and Great Aunt's and Uncle's and Second Cousins as well. She had so much fun.
RAD-Mom decided to get her all dressed up and put her hair up in a faux-hawk, it was definatly cute! No one could believe how big Mala Beba is getting, and its true she grows so much everyday, its amazing to watch.

Here is a picture of some of the family, but unfortunately not everyone was present for this one but at least Grandma, Grandpa, and the Great Grandparents were in the picture with little Mala Beba! It was nice to be around family and Mala Beba didn't have a problem making her rounds among everyone. Mala Beba is at that stage of where she is reaching for everything, so we have to be aware when she is near our faces, especially, as Great Grandma found out!!!

By the end of the day Mala Beba was exhausted and it was time to go home for us, but we had fun and look forward to the next Rowe-union.

On another note, after RAD-Mom did Mala Beba's hair, we realized something, what do you think????

Mala Beba? or Jack-Jack?
which one is which?

A day of fun!

Today Mala Beba, RAD-mom and Aunt Cristina went out running errands and stopped by to see Uncle Haris' family. Ademira (Haris' mom) blessed Mala Beba with a Bosnian tradition to have old age, a sweet and nice life and to be healthy. Ema, Haris' sister, had Mala Beba laughing in her car seat on the way out, something RAD-mom and Design Dad have yet to accomplish. Looks like Ema will be hired full time to keep Mala Beba happy whenever we are getting ready to get in the car.

Mala Beba received a beautiful, fun, yellow dress from Ema and Ademira today. We can't wait to get it on her. Thank you Ema and Ademira for a wonderful Saturday visit! We will be over again soon, especially if there is a rhubarb pastry waiting for us!

4th of July at Rockaway Beach 08

Well we got to go to the Beach for the 4th of July. It was so much fun and so relaxing and Mala Beba's first visit to the beach, oh yeah and Taylor came along too. It was our first family vacation since Mala Beba was born and she did amazing! There was a swimming pool there so of course Mala Beba loved going swimming with Design Dad, she would just kick and splash and coo. I believe she is a natural, all I had to do was hold her head and she would float around with no help, until she found her thumb. That's another a thing, Mala Beba found her thumb this week, which is perfect timing since she is now sleeping in her crib.

RAD-Mom decided to let Mala Beba try some cotton candy this weekend and boy did someone love it! RAD-Mom only gave her a little bit, but Mala Beba sucked her finger of any cotton candy residue that might have been on there, it was very cute. We truely enjoyed our time at the beach and the relaxation we got from being away from home, it was nice to be around RAD-Mom's family as well, they helped out so much with Mala Beba and love her dearly. It was hard to leave the beach and the view we had, but we'll be back next year!

First Blog

Well this is my first shot at blogging, I figured this would be a good way to kind of keep a journal for ourselves while also sharing with our friends and family the things that are going on in our lives. Mala Beba is now 4 months old, its amazing how fast time flies by. She is getting so big, she is weighing in at just over 13 lbs and is now over 25 inches tall, she has grown 6 inches in 4 months, guess she takes after dad and not mom ;-).
Mala Beba has been a true blessing in our lives, she has made us slow down, but at the same time she keeps us so busy, I know that makes sense to everyone that has a kid. Rad-Mom and I look at eachother sometimes and ask, "What did we do before her? What was life like?" Its crazy how things in your life change when you are blessed with an angel. Over all she is a wonderful baby. She loves to smile and talk, and boy when she starts a talking she can go for like 20 minutes its so funny and cute. She has been laughing as well, Alicia is really good at getting her to laugh, while on the other hand, while I can get her to talk, its a real job for me to get her to laugh. She's a stubborn one at times (I say she gets it from Rad-Mom, but truth is, she gets it from both of us). She knows what she wants and if she doesn't get it she'll let you know.
This week we are headed to Rockaway Beach (Oregon Coast) for the 4th of July, it will be Mala Beba's first trip to the beach, we just hope the weather holds out.
Last week we took her swimming, she loved it, I'll have to post some pictures of that as soon as I get some transferred to the computer and get some from Rad-Mom's parents. She loved the pool, she kicked and splashed and talked, we had a great time with her.
Well I don't know how to end this so I'll just end it like this......
